TCM sees the body as a complete system that needs balance to work in harmony. It takes a holistic approach to health and focusses on prevention and retention of heath.
I practice the 5 branches of TCM- Acupuncture, Herbalism, Nutrition, Movement, and Bodywork to help my patients acheive their wellness goals.
Acupuncture: Acupuncture involves using needles or pressure to stimulate specific acupoints along the body's meridians. This stimulation triggers our innate healing processes, increases blood flow, balances hormones, eases pain, and boosts the immune system. In my sessions, I focus on the nervous system first. By shifting from a sympathetic to a parasympathetic state, the body relaxes and heals, leading to improved digestion, sleep, and mood. I also offer cosmetic facial acupuncture rejuvenation and microneedling for natural, graceful aging.
Herbalism: Herbal formulas use synergistic herbs to target both the root causes and symptoms without debilitating side effects. These herbs enhance physical and emotional well-being. Essential oils are also a key component of all my treatments.
Nutrition: Food is the medicine we consume daily. I encourage eating fresh, seasonal foods that balance each patient's constitution. I typically provide nutritional recommendations during treatment sessions.
Movement: As a specialist in Medical Qi Gong, I focus on energy medicine through Qi Gong exercises and breathwork. These practices offer numerous benefits, including:
Movement is about activating one's Qi to improve circulation and bodily functions, strengthening the mind-body connection, removing emotional blockages, and cultivating inner peace. In TCM, a balanced lifestyle is active yet restful, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a natural daily rhythm and getting adequate sleep.
Body Work: Tuina is a therapeutic massage that uses kneading, pressing, and stretching techniques. Cupping involves placing suction cups on the skin. Gua Sha uses a smooth-edged tool to scrape the skin. These techniques relieve pain, improve circulation, and enhance overall well-being by increasing blood flow, reducing muscle tension, and promoting healing. They also help in reducing inflammation and relieving pain.
